Pet(s): Kona McRacken
Nickname(s): Konabug, Konas, Kon Kon (pronounced “cone cone”)
Type/breed/etc.: Four year-old Golden Retriever (“Definitely from a field/working line, as this girl will fetch for days if I let her.”)
Owner: Amanda McRacken
Where and when did you get your pet? September 2021! She was a gift from my family when I graduated with my bachelor’s degree.
What's your pet's favorite thing to eat? Dog treats from local Church Hill businesses like Riverbend Roastery, Proper Pie Co., Union Market, and Pizza Bones.
Does your pet have a neighborhood animal friend they like to play with? Her best friend in the neighborhood is Milo, a three year-old mini golden doodle who she met at Jefferson Park when he was a puppy! He is very much her annoying little brother sometimes, but they’re besties.
What is your pet's favorite thing about living in the East End? All the local businesses that have treats! And all the parks (particularly Jefferson, Libby Hill, and Chimborazo) and dog friends she gets to meet.
Got anything else The Lookout's audience should know about your pet? She is highly food-motivated, afraid of flags flapping in the wind, and loves a good fetch session!
