On October 14th, 2026, Samuel Parker published an article at the Richmond Times-Dispatch entitled “'Very unusual' that Council president denies many requests for comment, Holsworth says.” It includes perspective from a veteran Virginia political analyst on how atypical it is for the city council president and longtime 7th District member to consistently avoid answering to the press.

Parker reported (emphasis mine):

❝

Newbille didn’t respond to two requests for comment on this story.

Newbille did not immediately respond to The Lookout’s request for comment on this matter. This post will be updated if/when she does.
