On September 26th, 2026, The Lookout published an item entitled “No comment from Newbille on RPD’s rampant red-light running,” referencing a report from the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s Samuel Parker earlier this month showing cops have been caught on camera violating traffic laws more than 100 times at just 10 intersections over the past eight months.
As I reported (emphasis added):
The 7th District is now home to 20% of all the city’s red-light cameras, and its longtime representative at City Hall, City Council President Cynthia Newbille, has touted her commitment to street safety, but she did not respond to The Lookout’s request for comment on Parker’s explosive reporting.
